Buras or Burasa, which is made from rice and cooked in coconut milk, is usually served with beef and chicken dishes. For the Bugis Muslim community in Sabah East Coast, especially in Tawau, Kunak and Lahad Datu, Aidilfitri / Aidiladha celebration would not be complete without the Buras. Buras it is usually eaten with the 'ayam masak lengkuas'.
NEW KUNAK ATTRACTION? UNDERGROUND TUNNEL IN KUNAK, SABAH.
The underground tunnel (pictured) believed to be left behind by Japanese soldiers during World War II (WW2) has been identified as a potential tourist attraction in Kunak. Kunak Assemblyman, Datuk Nilwan Kabang explored the site with several officials on May 15 located at an oil palm estate owned by Sime Darby. The tunnel, which will also attract archeologists, is found to be unique in a sense. - click photo
